Don Limpio : |
|
Thing Make Me Happy
Recorded Fall 2006 in KyeongJu, South Korea
If John Tesh and Meatloaf crashed a vegan potluck wearing nothing but chicken livers duct taped to their privates, the sound of them snorting tofu into their flared nostrils would still not match the chaos and beauty of Thing Make Me Happy. Yes, Don Limpio is back and burnin’ up the kitchen with his third full length album, Thing Make Me Happy, Thing... clocks in at 22 tasty tracks, all chock-o-block full of sampledellic smash-ups, booty lickin ’ breakcore, and bit munchin’ chips tunes. Just leave the cutlery at home. This one’s meant to dribble down your chin.

What does your tongue like the most?
Recorded Winter 2006 in KyeongJu, South Korea
Clocking in for the third round, Don Limpio’s What does your tongue like the most? Comes out swinging hard with 27 tracks of maniacal sampledellic shenanigans all aiming for the sweat spot. Like punch drunk howler monkeys, What does your tongue like... swaggers between bit-crunching hyperdellica, rockabilly smash-ups, butt movin’ beat punk, fractured casio grooves and everything else caught in the ring. It’ll leave you giddy, gaspin’ for breath and seeing stars..... but without those @#$! howler monkeys.

Stuck to the Roof of My Mouse
Recorded Fall 2003 in Barcelona, Spain
Much like toxic villains of pulp, sci-fi comics clashing head on with Atari-age megadroids, Don Limpio returns with a full length romp through the playground of digital sound. Weighing in at 37 tracks, Stuck... is just bursting with wonky 8-bit beats, off kilter Casio pop, booty shakin DnB, and of course mad, cracked out samples galore. Perma-grin guaranteed. Much like choking on gummy worms, Stuck... will leave your face down on the floor reaching for that can of nitrous, wishing you hadn't decided to play leap frog with that lopsided midget.

Bite the Wax Tadpole EP
Recorded Fall 2002 in Kwangyang, South Korea
Don Limpio's first great plunge into the deep and murky waters of digital music, Bite... traipses through undiscovered sonic pastures like a lama on steroids, exploring the limits of eery ambient dreamscapes, fist pumping post-industrial mayhem, rollicking funky flatulence and everything in between. All served up with a heapin' helpin' of oriental spice to keep your bowels healthy and your stamina strong... yer gonna need it. So have no fear, step right on up and bite down hard.

Terminal Sonic Resources: The Bunker Transmissions
Recorded July 2002 in Harrisonburg, Virginia
A quiet summer's night; a sleepy suburban housing tract; Terminal Sonic Resources convened in a dank, concrete basement to cull from the eather an improvised and often hallucinatory exorcism of electronic sound. The Bunker Transmissions is the remaining documentation of this transgression of the veil: post-nuclear drone, swirling psycho tropic sound collage, grinding industrial noise-scapes, and lost voices from the depths. Present for this manifestation of TSR were Norm Scott (bass guitar, sequencing, sample drops, and spoken word) and Sherwin Jones (turntables, tape recorders, casio-keyboards, echo box and drum machine).

Audio Snapshots: Thailand and Cambodia
Recorded April 2003 in Thailand and Cambodia
In the Spring of 2003, intrepid traveler Sherwin V. set off for a month in Thailand and Cambodia with mini disk recorder in one hand and mic in the other. The results are very personal, some times funny, other times disturbing and often tenderly beautiful. Audio Snapshots.. documents the gamut of the SE Asian travel experience, from Lasu folk music in the Thai highlands, to the absurd banter of sex show barkers in the Patpong red light district of Bangkok, hypnotic chanting of Buddhist monks, Cambodian children hawking trinkets in the magnificent ruins of Angor Watt and much, much more. Not quite the next best thing to being there, but until you go there yourself, this'll have to do.

Static on the Channels: The Analog Archives
Recorded 1994 -2000 in Harrisonburg, Virginia
If early industrial noisesters like T.G. had grown up in the 80's watching Sesame Street, playing Nintendo and listening to Tiffany, the resulting sounds would've been not be too far akin from Static on the Channels. Not for the feint of heart, Static... culls the best and brightests jems from 6 years of Sherwin V Jones's analog recordings, sound experiments and musical collaborations. Infused with a fierce lo-fi, DIY, music-by-any-means-necessary ethic, Static... hopscotches from minimal drones, to nasty metal percussion, post-nuclear noisescapes, to fractured lo-fi electro-pop, and straight up, bugged out sound collage chaos. Guaranteed to strangle the life out of even the wildest party or your money back!
