| 1/30/07 Baby New Year has come and passed, much like the angel of death upon the Israelites in bondage, sparing our lives yet not our sanity. In true testament to this fact the Don and I have been engaged in our usual nefarious shenanigans.
For starters we’ve decided to throw further fodder upon that steaming dung heap of data glut known as the world wide web and have propped our own myspace site in order to better propagate the loving goodness that is Don Limpio: http://profile.myspace.com/donlimpio In more luminary activities, this October we were invited by that schooled master of instrumental toy trickery, Twink, to demix, smash-up and generally discombobulate his track Sugarcone for an upcoming Twink remix album. We shall be posting the release date and further vitals pending carrier pigeon arrival. But to finally place the veritable fringe atop the surrey, our jowls are plum bursting to announce that, yes, indeed Don Limpio’s third full-length album, Thing Make Me Happy,is hot off the presses! In true Limpio style, Thing Make Me Happy is chock-o-block full of schizoid smash-ups, booty bouncin’ glitch beats, hyperdellic chips tunes and all manner of weirdness in between. We’ve got high hopes for this baby and plan an aggressive marketing for this Spring sending out promo copies to John Tesh and David Geffen disguised as honey dipped gorilla dung. In the mean time, check out a sampling of our fresh sweet treats via the albums page. |
| 7/12/06 After months sweatin over a hot laptop, mixin 1 part moldy K-pop tunes with 2 parts powdered gamboy cartridges, Don Limpio’s long awaited comeback is piping hot and ready to serve. Yeeehaw! With 27 tracks on the menu, What does your tongue like the most? is sure ta tickle your pallette for casio-pop beat punk hyperdellic smash-ups. And what’s more, they’z all available right here to download free of charge. Yup, ya heard us. So step right on up for a heaping helping of Don Limpio, and don’t forget to eat yer greens. They’z high in vitamin C after all. |
| 4/11/06 Well we’ve finally gone and done it: gotten off our flatulent arses and done a good bit a tweeking on the Albums page, completely revamping it for future uploading flexibility. Our latent anti-capitalist tendencies have finally gotten the better of us (not to mention mixonic sux). Hence Static on the Channels and Audio Snapshots have been posted free to download in all their glory, with Don Limpio’s "Bite the Wax Tadpole" and other goodies here to come very soon.Viva la revolution! |
| 3/19/06 We’ve finally sifted through the tangled hours of tape recorded in S.E. Asia this past Feb. So here are better cuts available to all as mp3z, in their glory, for any manner of (mis)appropriation, sampling and general sonic mangling. There’s everything from bird calls, chanting monks, spastic tour guides to backyard karoke and inflammatory communist propaganda (my personal favorite). That stereo mini mic wasn’t a bad investment after all. Enjoy. |
| 3/02/06 Well the Don and I are cooling our jets back here in sunny South Korea, safe and sound after a month tripping around Vietnam and Thailand, suitcases bursting Vietnamese communist marching songs and chocolate covered Ho Chi Minh statuettes. But it the mean time it seems that the near miraculous has finally happened. Aptly timed to fall on that infamous day separating the winners from the losers in the game of love, as of Feb. 14 Stuck to the Roof of My Mouse has been officially released on Grand Deceiver Records. Yeeehaw! So step right up folks and get em while there hot. Already we’ve been getting some positive feedback, via the fine folks at Textura, not to mention NYC’s free103point9 and Claremont, CA’s KSPC 88.7 have added Stuck... to their rotation. Muchas Gracias para todos :-) |
| 1/07/06 Feliz an(y)o nuevo! Yes another year has come upon us, dragging Don Limpio farther into the murky regions of the future. And speaking of the future, thanks to the tireless little elves at Grand Deceiver Records, it seems that Don Limpio’s first full length album, Stuck to the Roof of My Mouse, will finally be seeing the light of day here very soon! Stay tuned to the channel for further news of the actually release date and purchasing details.
In other news, the Don is taking full advantage of the winter chill by staying huddled in his hovel, twiddling with his machines, and recording sessions for a second album. So here’s a special sneak at two juicy little half baked morsels: Twerp (3.7 MB) and 2 Bit Brain (3.6 MB) |
10/17/05 The dust is finally settling round here from our glorious return to land of the morning clam (Thank the powers for Konglish, a never ending source of delight and amusement). In spite of all our work nailing kimchi on the walls and peppering the door frames of our new place, the Don and I still found time to weasel our way into garnering the coveted main feature of Lo-Fi Confessional #7 Re:gression (click to download yer free copy), out soon on Grand Deceiver Records.
But worry not, LFC7 ain’t simply yours truly taking a grand ole’ self promotional wank. Rather Re:gression is choke full o’ goodies, such as a spotlight on Vancouver’s own micro-melodicist The Square Root Of Evil, selections from the copious sound archives of Norm Scott and a crunchy little bonus track of the Don jamin’ with Claustrophonic (aka Greg Franklin) in June back in Barcelona. Mashike Tuseyo! |
| 7/31/05 Like a jack rabbit on trucker pills it seems that yet again Don Limpio is on the move. Having bid a sad adieu to dear friends and fair weather in Barcelona, we find ourselves once more destined for South Korea, land of kimchi, konglish, and kareoke.
Meanwhile, in the midst of our blitzkrieg sojourn through the grand ole’ U.S. of A, we managed to swing by Pittsburg PA for a visit with old friend and indy rock monster Corey Layman, aka Developer. Thinking quick and pullin' rabbits out of a hat, Corey scored a one-off Developer v.s. Don Limpio gig opening for analoge noise-sters Luxe Robotica at the Garfield Art works. With Andrew Omore tossed into the mix on guitar, we laid down a solid flow of indy-tronica for 45 minutes, syphoning off a hand full of stragglers from the hardcore bands playing next door. Here then as mp3s are what the mad punters had in store: Developer vs Don Limpio Live 1st Movement : Part I (5 MB)Part II (5.9 MB) 2nd Movement : Part III (6 MB)Part IV (5 MB) 3rd Movement : Part V (6.3 MB) Part VI (3.8 MB) Part VII (4.6) |

10/02/04 El mundo del pulpo and Don Limpio hath finalamente returned to Spain from bouncing hither and yon on this here God's green earth. Having failed at an attempt to make mad cash hustling illicet language skills to small children in Korea, he has managed to aquire a few musical toys for all the good little girls and boys. Until he and I have the time to actually learn how to put them to improper use, let us entertain you with a few half-baked goodies currently in the cooker; definitly in more atmosphericly illbient and narcoleptic vein. So lets all grab our bassoons, turn to page 42 and sing along... Bosque (mp3: 1.46 MB) , Gobta Guptra (mp3: 3.0 MB) and The Slip (mp3: 2.9 MB) |
| 6/16/04 Fretfully, the Don and I continue to remain on hiatus from our usual musical miscapades and musing, instead we've been devoting all our time and resources to further developing other e-projects and web personas. We hope to get back in gear here shortly, but till then here’s another juicy morsel of post DHR noise-core badness from the vaults. Composed at the launch Operation Iraqi Freedom, it expresses my sentiments concerning the cabal of Neo-Con hucksters currently masquerading as “leaders of the free world” and their murderous Project for a New American Millennial Reich in a way my copious political rants never could. Dead at Hoodstock: the Star Mangled Remix (MP3: 4.55 MB) |
| 4/20/04 We are very please to announce that burned-to-order CDs of Stuck to the Roof of My Mouse, the Bite the Wax Tadpole EP and Static on the Channels can now be purchased on-line, via credit card, through: store.mixonic.com/donlimpio for the generously low prices of $8.49, $6.49, and $ 8.49 respectivly, plus shipping and handeling of course. So get 'em while they're hot folks, daddy's gotta buy a new laptop. |
| 4/10/04 Easter Sunday Much like the Easter Bunny conquering death and rising from the grave that glorious day well neigh two millenia ago, Don Limpio and I would like to say "Thank God this @#$%!? web site is finally finished!" That is if a web site is ever truly finished, but existential questions such as that we shall leave to those self professed philosophers to loose sleep over. Now we can get back to the true nature of our crime: making music.
As we are currently revamping our studio gear and revising our methods, the music itself has lead us off in a completely different direction, returning to our roots of nasty minimal drone and cinematic noisescapes, as we've begun tinkering with phat, lopsided dub beats and non-linear loops. Slated for released by the end of summer under the moniker Jonez the Bastard, keep yer ears to the ground as sneak peeks'll be provided right here in the coming months. But not to leave yer mouths watering for scant vittles, check out this ruff n rockin little ditty cooked up with Ben Clark, Berlin based artist and drummer for Dominique, in the course of his Xmas holiday visit to Barca: The Rooster's Cock (MP3: 2.7MB) |
