I have to apologize to the regular readers of this blog (if indeed they exist beyond my lovely wife
) for being slack in posting lately. I had not one, but two, presentations to prepare for my masters program this last week. As my creative efforts have been going elsewhere, I don’t actually have any articles ready to post atm. However this year’s cherry blossoms are in full bloom and I did get out recently for some family photos among the blossoms.
I won’t bore you with the family pics here, but I thought I’d share few photos of the gorgeous flowers and the general festive atmosphere around town this weekend. On Friday we walked along Kim Yu-shin’s tomb, which is one of the most popular spots for frolicking among the blossoms. Then on Saturday we strolled among the cherries in Banwolseong Fortress as well as along the less traveled road on the east side of O-neung Tombs Park. I posted directions and maps this time last year. Get out and enjoy the blossoms while they last (probably through next weekend, though don’t quote me on that). If not, I guess you’ll just have to do with the pictures.

VERY VERY good pictures mate!
Thinking of traveling out of Seoul this weekend (April 16) just curious how the cherry blossoms will be in Gyoungju. I used to live in Busan and I know the season can go by quick with wind/rain. thx.
The cherries have just hit their peak, so they should still be worth worth the trip this weekend. Have a good trip
Hey – made the trip to Gyeongju from Ulsan during the week. Thanks for posting the maps and tips.
No worries Sam. Hope you had a good trip!
